First off, I SHOULD HAVE posted this Friday. I had planned to post this Friday. And then I should have posted this
yesterday. But alas, it did not happen
either day. I could go into many details
as to why it didn’t get posted, but those don’t change the fact that I didn’t
get this written up and posted. So for
that I apologize to O-man plus R&E.
At the same time, I could have posted this Friday night after we arrived
at R&E’s home. Both boys were
asleep; the house was quiet, and there was time to post before midnight and
still on O-man’s actual birth date. But
the four of us stayed up until well after midnight just talking, getting caught
up and solving the world’s problems – which often happens in talks that end with runs to Walmart for toilet paper well past midnight. Rich memories, guys…what I like to call The
Good Stuff.
So with the apologies aside, it was O-man’s 2 year birthday Friday! Since it is still the weekend of his birthday
and his party, does this count as ok?
I hope so!
I love being a grandmother.
It is so easy to love each of these little guys – as a group and as
individuals. And I like to celebrate
loving the individuals with these birthday posts. And it is O-man’s turn to be loved on
and celebrated in my own little way.
Ready?
The Top 5 Things we Love about O-man…
# 5 – His smile. Whether that is his bright smile...
...or his cheesy smile...
...or his more sober side where we feel like we can view into his very soul (that we love just as much as his smiles) his smile is incredibly winsome!
# 4 – His concentration stance – or really his concentration
squat or lay. I love watching him do
this, because then you know he is giving this book or toy or pile of gifts his
full, undivided attention.
# 3 – The Blueberry Claw. What is not to love?
2 – His love of “tur-tas”.
Now that he’s all grown up and 2 years old, he probably says the word
like a college professor, but they will always be O-man’s “tur-tas” to us.
And the # 1 Thing we Love about O-man…
# 1 – How much he loves his brother and his brother loves him. So wonderful to observe.
Now for the Top 5 Things we would give O-man for his second
birthday if time, money and resources were no object…
# 5 – Trips to Bass Pro to see the “tur-tas” every day. Nah, better yet? His own “tur-ta” pond.
# 4 – Blueberries. Because we need more blueberry claws in this
world. Period. End of argument.
# 3 – An indoor/outdoor water play area – right next to the
“tur-ta” pond, of course. The boy LOVES
to play in the water! It is so simply
delightful!
# 2 – More blueberries.
Cause can you ever really have too many blueberries?
And the # 1 Thing we would Give O-man for his second
birthday if time, money and resources were no object…
# 1
– Lots and lots and lots of play dates with Grandpa G and Grandma Deb! Yep, we admit it. This is our most selfish gift to offer, but
we so wish that everyone lived closer so we could see each one of these guys
much more often! Sometimes it feels like
it has been so long since we last saw each of them (even if it was just
yesterday or last week or last month) that they will have started driving or
graduating from college and we somehow missed it cause we blinked. And time for petting calves...
...or hitting T-balls got missed, which would be a very
sad thing indeed.
So yes, our # 1 Thing
we’d give O-man for his second birthday if time, money and resources and
DISTANCE were no object is lots and lots and LOTS of play dates together! And we don’t apologize for that gift wish one
bit!
Happy! Happy! Birthday, O-man! We LOVED seeing you and your family this weekend! Thank you for sharing your birthday with us!
I fell in love with my O all over again from this post! Those toes in the first one, his eyes in the bath time one. and that joy on his face petting that calf. I am one blessed lady to not only have a precious boy, but that he has a Gma and Gpa that adore him as much as you do.
ReplyDeleteSo glad you enjoyed! And he is very easy to fall in love with! (PS - so are you!)
