Busy Saturday

G and I spent last Saturday taking care of growing things.

G's primary focus most of the day was growing our new neighborhood community garden.  Our house is rather neighborhood community garden central right now.

We have posts...(not to be confused with blog posts...)

..and we have blueberry plants.

As well as raspberry and grape plants.

We have lots of dirt.

I'm sorry.  I shouldn't have said it that way.  I should have said we have lots of top soil.

G spent Saturday digging holes for the posts with another helpful neighbor.

Lots of holes for lots of poles.

And lots of holes for lots of trees.

Like peach trees...

...and apple trees, and even a plum tree.

It is just starting out, but hopefully it will be a full garden when it grows up!

My primary focus most of the day was this little guy.  Mimi let him get dirty.

Such concentration.  Getting dirty and learning about sticks is hard, thoughtful work.

 We found a favorite rock...

and we threw it against the wall...

and then picked up and threw it again.

We worked on building tall towers.

But we still had time for a quick smile!

And we ended the day so hip and cool in our sunglasses.

I am pretty sure that I won on Saturday.  Working on the neighborhood community garden is cool, G, but Mimi got the better end of this deal.  I'm sure of it.
