Cause I loves me some Alton Brown!

Alton Brown.  That Food Network legend of Good Eats, Iron Chef America, Feasting on Asphalt, Cut Throat Kitchen, and The Next Food Network Star.

Was.  In the house.

The Fabulous Fox Theater house.

Last night.

And the sistas had tickets!

Please ignore my poor selfie skills.  Perhaps it is a good thing that my selfie skills aren't highly developed, but that is for another day's subject.  Regardless, that is US!  At the Fox, ready for the show to begin!!

Except we had a sista sub, because one of our sistas, our resident Miss Emily Post, was not able to join us.  We missed you, W!  But I think I can safely say that C thoroughly enjoyed using your ticket!!!

Here is a much better pic - of our sista, P, rubbin' elbows with the one and only Mr. Brown.  This wasn't from last night, cause P and Alton are tight like that.
He looks just the same.  He hasn't changed a bit.

And oh my.  Wow!  What a show!  Hilarious.  Genius.  Full of surprises.  All of the things we have come to expect from our beloved Alton, all rolled up into a single night on the amazing Fox Theater stage.

I honestly didn't know what to expect.  And we had some "fun" traveling weather and traffic to get there.  "Is this going to be worth it?" was a question I had in my head the closer we got to the Fox.  I didn't voice it; I didn't want to jinx anything, but I thought it.  I am ashamed to admit this, but confession is good for the soul and all that.

I NEVER should have doubted.  Period.

I don't want to spoil anything so I'm going to leave out a TON of what we experienced last night, but suffice it to say.  If you get a chance to go see him, go.  Even if you're not a huge Alton Brown fan, if you have ever watched a single episode of Good Eats or Iron Chef America, you will enjoy this show.  If, like me, you are a major fan of his self-proclaimed mix of Julia Child, Monty Python and The Science Guy, you will LOVE the show!  In other words, GO!

I have copious notes from last night, but I will only share these few...Top 5 most memorable or appreciated moments from the Alton Brown Live show:

# 5 - The best cook on earth is...and the most important tool in the kitchen....I won't share the answers, but they illustrate that Alton never forgets that food is about relationship, connecting with others.

# 4 - Airport shrimp cocktail is song worthy, country music worthy, cause what other genre would lend itself to singing about the travails that accompany airport shrimp cocktail?

# 3 - Alton may or may not have spent time watching Gallagher on stage.  At least he (or his lawyers) value a segment that includes "poncho time."

# 2 - Guitar.  Singing.  "And the meat goes on..."  Even a saxophone.  Marching band geek in his past?  Who knew?  But what is not to love?  Absolutely endearing.  Opens and closes the show with song, even a sing-a-long at the very end of one of his original songs.  Pretty stinkin' amazing, if ya ask me.

And the # 1 most memorable or appreciated moment from the Alton Brown Live show...

Watching the deaf interpreter rocking out to the Easy Bake blues, to then be followed by the Mega Bake.  'Nuff said.

Again, GO!  If he is coming to a city near you, GO!  You won't be sorry!
