Summer Vacation Pics

Anyone suddenly have flashbacks of weird Uncle Joe pulling out his trusty...er...dusty...slide projector with boxes of pictures turned into slides?  Remember the click of the first slide dropping in, and then the click-click that would follow as that slide was drawn back up into the carriage and the next slide dropped in?  And then the projector would overheat or a slide would get stuck and suddenly the trip down memory lane was over?

I have no idea where that came from...and chances are good that most folks who read this are young enough to have no idea what I'm talking about, but for those who do, that there was a bit of nostalgia from the 60's and 70's for some of us - a slice of American culture that is no more, right?

I promise, I will do my best not to make you think of your weird Uncle Joe.  For we truly had a very nice time away with family and hanging out in Branson.  I wish I had a pic of running into our friend, B, and her family at the bumper boats in Branson, or the pic of my soaking thanks to her family, but alas, I do not.  It was still GREAT to see them and get just about one of the bestest hugs EVER from B!

So in no particular order, here are some pics from our vacation - albeit not a pic of the bumper boats...but we do have a few from A-man's first go-cart ride ever!
This was before.  He and his daddy were in one go-kart, and Grandpa G were in the orange one to the left.

And here is his smile after.  He LOVED it!

It didn't work out this time for K&E and K-man to come down to Branson while we were there, but we did get to be around for K's birthday party!  I'm so glad we got to do that!  We even got to feed this little man his dinner that night!  He was sooooo wired on people and party and birthday cake he would just break out into laughter for no reason, and we would just laugh right along with his contagious little giggle!  So fun!
A couple of folks tried to tell us that he could feed himself and didn't need to be fed, but we were like, "And just how often do we get the chance to feed little K-man?"  We thoroughly enjoyed feeding him!

Oh and cousin secrets...they start early...
I never even asked what the secret was.  Gotta respect cousin secrets after all.  But it may have been about the rock band that they will form someday...

They've got the moves, no doubt about it.

Here's a cute one of Grandpa G with K-man and O-man at the Springfield Cardinals game.  Grandpa G enjoyed explaining the game to his grandsons.

And in case you wondered about the many emotions of a Springfield Cardinal...
...we have your Game Face...
...and we have your "We HAVE to Win This!" Game face...
...followed by your "Love of the Game!" game face.

We got one quick pic of this adorable family under the Hammonds Field sign!

Let's see, what else should I share?  Oh yea, we went to Ripley's Believe it or Not for some interesting facts and height measurements...
...vs. Robert Waldow.
...vs. Octimus Prime.
...vs. Ironman.
And vs. Incredible Hulk.

But we also did some measuring in just regular playtime...

What else?  Hmmmm...just maybe that some of the best memories are simple moments like this...

Or this.
Or even this.
Cause really.  How often do I get to see my husband in a "More Cowbell" T-shirt?  Cause he's such a More Cowbell kind of guy, after all.

I will close with this pic of my toes.  E & I went out for a little while for some girl time, and that HAD to include some manis and pedis, right?  This was the first time I ever had art put on my toes.  (Am I too old for that?)
I should have turned that picture counterclockwise 90 degrees, but oh well.  You get the idea.

All in all, a very nice vacation.  I truly unplugged from work, and that doesn't happen very often at all, if you know what I mean.  So when it does happen, I extra appreciate it!

Signed,
Weird Uncle Joe?
