It's a Minty Christmas!

Today I will be giving out the boxes and platters of minty Christmas goodies to individuals and departments where I work.  I'm so excited!  I love doing this.  And I always hope that people love receiving them.

Before I show you the final boxes and platters, I wanted to share one element that is in each box.  This is a homemade peppermint cocoa mix.
This is super easy to make, and would make a nice, last-minute gift idea or stocking stuffer.  You could pack it in little jars with a decorative ribbon or little bags.  The recipe below made about 20 bags of about 3/4 cup each - or enough for about 3 - 4 cups of hot cocoa.  And much of it is to taste.  I would put together various combinations and then we would add hot water and taste, so feel free to adjust to better suit your individual taste.

1-1/2 cups of crushed peppermint candy
5 cups of dried milk (old-fashioned powdered milk)
1-1/2 cups of unsweetened cocoa (regular or darker varieties)
3 cups of powdered sugar
2 cups of regular sugar
2 T. cornstarch

Mix together and you are ready to give away or store in your pantry.  I would say that this should be good at least 3 months, but there's no reason it wouldn't be good longer than that.  We have included this little tag with each bag so folks know what it is and what to do with it.

So now for the final boxes!  Here is the assembly line teamwork...

And here is what the inside of a box looks like...

From top to bottom, we have the Mint Oreo Balls, Mounds Bar, Thin Mints, Peppermint Meringue, Peppermint Fudge, Minty Marshmallows, Toffee, Andes Peppermint Cookie, Andes Mint Cookie, Peppermint Hot Cocoa and a Chocolate Covered Candy Cane.

Here they are in platter form, where you can see them a little bit better...

And finally each box and platter is finished off with a Christmas Haiku...

Thanks for reading along as we've made these treats.  Hope you've enjoyed!  Gotta run and start to deliver!!

Merry Minty Christmas!!!
