24 days left...Inspiration!

I love being inspired!

And really.  Can you say the word inspired! without an exclamation point on the end?  I mean, no, right?  By it's very definition, it excites!  It motivates!  It is full of hope!  It inspires!

I have three particular places in mind this morning of inspiration!  And by no means do these three exhaust the places of inspiration! to me, but they happen to be what is on my mind today.

  • Other bloggers.  Like I am baker and her buttercream rose cake or the rose pumpkin pie.  I am giving serious thought to replicating this pie for Pie Night, but if I do this with pumpkin pie, then my daughter, B, who the pumpkin pie is made for won't eat it.  She is a pumpkin pie purest.  Don't adulterate her pumpkin pie with that whipped cream stuff.  When I've done so in the past, I've "broken" it.  So I will have to find a different pie to do this with, but I think it is a way cool idea.  (And personally I eat the pumpkin pie for the whipped cream.  True.)  But the point is, I have multiple bloggers in my favorites...well, multiple cooking bloggers anyway like Pioneer Woman or like Sally's Baking Addiction because she gives lots of blogging tips for folks just starting out or trying to figure out this blogging thing.  Like me.  But these ladies have built an audience, so they inspire! me to try to figure out how to do so.  I have a LOT to learn and a long way to get there, but if I do nothing, then I get nothing accomplished.  But if I learn from others who have gone before and keep trying and stay inspired!, I just might be able to connect with a few folks I wouldn't otherwise be able to connect with.  And that's inspiring!
  • Our grandsons.  These little guys inspire! me to think of new ways to love on them, to interact with them, and to be the best Grandma Deb/Mimi to them that I can be.  They inspire! me to go see them (I enjoy seeing their parents, too, I promise, but like my daughter, S, says - it's really all about seeing her son now!)  Like children everywhere, they represent the future...hope...new ideas... but when they are your grandchildren, they also represent the past, glimpses of who their parents were as little ones.  Plus they remind us to be the grandparents...the ones with less responsibilities, so be inspired! to take the time to slow down or speed up to match their pace and simply wonder at the wonderful world all around us.  They also inspire! me to take more pictures like this one.  Is it too late for a little Halloween flirting?
  • Billy Graham.  It was his 95th birthday yesterday.  95 years.  95.  95!  We watched his "My Hope America" presentation last night as well as the interview including his grandson after.  We found out that his grandkids call him "Daddy Bill" which is just so stinkin' intimate and regular all at the same time.  But it is this man's integrity that inspires! me.  He has been in the ministry over 60 years, and in all that time, he has intentionally kept people in his life that have held him accountable so that there is no scandal surrounding him.  Say what you will about his beliefs, or your agreement or disagreement with them. That is your God-given choice, but this is a man who has met with more US presidents than any other man alive, has spoken before millions of people, and his name still inspires! people to live more humbly, more lovingly, and with more integrity - while still being approachable enough to be "Daddy Bill."  Yep, that gets me inspired!
Happy Friday folks!  Be inspired!  And be thankful for people who inspire! you!

Oh, and for pie.  Always be thankful for pie.
